About Air Balancing Service
Air Balancing Service (ABS) is an independent educational platform dedicated to explaining HVAC concepts clearly — specifically air balancing, Testing, Adjusting and Balancing (TAB), airflow fundamentals, indoor air quality, cleanroom basics, and the standards that govern these practices.
What ABS Is
ABS is a knowledge platform. Every article, guide, calculator, and glossary entry is written with one goal: to explain technical HVAC concepts clearly and accurately, without a commercial agenda.
Our audience includes:
- Building owners and facilities managers who want to understand what their HVAC systems are doing
- HVAC technicians and engineers who want accessible reference explanations
- Contractors, commissioning agents, and TAB professionals who want educational resources to share with clients
- Students and curious people who want to understand the systems that heat, cool, and ventilate buildings
What ABS Is Not
ABS is not a licensed contractor, a TAB firm, a compliance testing service, or an equipment seller. We do not:
- Perform HVAC work of any kind
- Offer contractor referrals
- Provide compliance certifications
- Sell equipment, instruments, or services
- Accept payment for placement of content
Editorial Standards
Content on ABS is reviewed for accuracy against primary sources — ASHRAE standards, NEBB and AABC procedural standards, ISO 14644, and peer-reviewed HVAC literature. Where authoritative sources conflict or where topics are genuinely uncertain, we say so.
We do not publish content on compliance categories or keywords associated with regulated services (e.g., energy compliance testing, commissioning certifications) where a reader could reasonably mistake educational information for professional service.
